| Provider: | Advanced Interactive Systems |

Advanced Interactive Systems, based out of Seattle, WA, has delivered to the US Army an advanced virtual dismounted infantry trainer. The user is sensored on the HMD, back, and weapon to define head/body orientation for vision/movement and weapon aiming for target engagement. After an initial calibration, when the user raises the weapon to aim, a virtual replica of the sight picture appears in the HMD visual and this is used to engage targets.
Controls on the weapon provide movement through the environment and allow selection of other actions such as generate hand and arm signals, throw hand grenades, etc.
